Great Feature Lighting
We replaced our ceiling and existing central oyster lghts with a gaboon ply grid ceiling. The oyster lights would not look suitable because it would ruin the appearance of the wood and would look strange centered over the shadowline grid. I knew an LED strip would great but baulked at quotes of around $3-4k to have one installed the 5x5m room. After only a little bit of research I found the Viper DIY strip along with the Havit shallow black aluminium profile on the Lighting Outlet. All up this cost about $1,100 including the electrician cost to install an additional socket (these are plug-ins not hard-wired) which is still spurred from the room light switch. And we think the end result looks fantastic!
2 x 10m lengths of the strip covered the whole perimeter of the room. Installation of both the profile and the strip was simple. The wattage of 2 strips matched the existing watts of the oyster lights and the light level works very nicely. Not bright and not dim. And we saved about $2k!
