Most run for 6 to 10 hours on a full charge, and many have a sensor or timer mode to stretch the battery on long winter nights. Premium models with larger panels and lithium batteries can keep going for 3 to 5 nights without strong sun.

Yes, if you choose the right unit. Look for taller, higher lumen bollards (around 400 lumens and up) and space them 3 to 5 metres apart. For a brighter all-night result you can also mix in solar driveway lights.

They will still charge on overcast days, just more slowly, so run time is shorter in winter. Position the panel where it gets the most direct sun, keep it clean, and choose a model with a monocrystalline panel and a lithium battery for the most reliable output.

IP54 is the minimum for sheltered garden spots. For exposed positions, driveways or coastal areas, choose IP65 or higher so the light handles heavy rain, dust and sprinklers.
