Hang every pendant perfectly.
Heights, spacing and sizing made simple — for islands, dining tables, voids and beyond. Answer a few questions and we'll size your fitting, space your lights, and show the ones that suit.
Where are your pendants going?
Every space has its own rules. Pick a room to set the guidance below — then size it and shop it.
What size pendant do I need?
Enter your measurements. The studio sizes your fitting, works out how many to hang and how far apart, sets the height — then finds pendants that fit.
Guidance only — always test the height in place before fixing. Heights measured to the bottom of the fitting.
The three rules that do the heavy lifting
Showing guidance for your selected room. Change the room above and these update.
Hanging height
Hang the bottom of the pendant the right distance above the surface — high enough to see across, low enough to light the task.
- Island / table750–900mm above the surface
- Bedside500–700mm above the nightstand
- Walkways / voids2100mm+ clear of the floor
The width rule
Total fitting width should be about ½ to ⅔ the width of the surface below it. A 2.4m table calls for 1200–1600mm of fitting.
- 2.4m table1200–1600mm of fitting
- No surface?(room L + W in m) × 83 = Ø in mm
- Tall voidfixture ≈ 20–25% of ceiling height
How many & how far apart
Divide the island into equal parts and centre a light in each. Linear pendants are the elegant answer for long, narrow islands.
- Under 2m2 pendants
- 2–3m2 or 3 pendants
- 3m +3 or more, or one linear
