Choosing a driver
Allow 9.6w for every metre of strip and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run draws 48w, so it needs a 24v driver of at least 58w, which in practice means a 60w driver. For longer installations, split the strip into runs of 5 metres or less and feed each run separately. The 30 metre roll is supplied as one reel, so plan your runs before cutting. To dim the strip, pair it with a dimmable 24v driver and a compatible dimmer.
Mounting and heat
To keep the warranty valid, this strip must be mounted on an aluminium surface that draws heat away from the LEDs, and an aluminium profile is the simplest way to do it. The profile also protects the strip and extends its life, and a diffuser gives the softest line of light. Choose a profile at least 5mm wide inside to suit the 4mm strip. Narrow profiles made for micro strip keep the install tidy in thin shelf edges and joinery.
