Chasing RGB LED strip, 12v, 8w per metre, IP54
This chasing multicolour strip does more than change colour. Paired with a chasing controller, it can run moving effects along its length, so colour sweeps and flows rather than sitting still. Sixty 5050 LEDs per metre deliver bright, saturated colour from a slim 10mm strip.
It is made for feature and party lighting: kickboards, bar fronts, games rooms, shelving, shop displays and entertainment areas. The IP54 rating means it also copes with damp or sheltered spots.

Choosing a driver and controller
Allow 8w for every metre and add about 20% headroom. A full 5 metre run draws 40w, so it needs a 12v driver of at least 48w, which in practice means a 60w driver. Your controller must be made for chasing strip and rated for the full load of the run. For longer installs, split the strip into runs of 5 metres or less and feed each one separately. In damp or sheltered locations, use a weatherproof driver and controller or keep them under cover.
Mounting and heat
We recommend mounting it in an aluminium profile. The profile draws heat away from the LEDs, protects the strip and extends its life, and a diffuser gives the softest line of light. Choose a profile at least 11mm wide inside to suit the 10mm strip. The 3M backing holds the strip in place during installation.
IP54 rated, suitable for damp or sheltered locations as well as indoors.
