This is a replacement unit for a lost remote...except it also comes with the receiver that's installed on the fan. Would have preferred to buy only the remote (and save on both cost and unnecessary piece of electronics)

The previous fan/light remote had worn out from frequent use and had to be replaced. I was worried that I might have to go for a generic version seeing as it was more than 15 years old. However, I found what I needed at The Lighting Outlet, it relatively inexpensive and was delivered quickly. I didn't even have to fiddle with its toggle switches as the fan was set to the remote's default settings. Good experience all round.
