Choosing a driver
The 12v versions (HV2907 and HV2909) run on low voltage and need a 12v LED driver, installed by a licensed electrician. The 240v versions wire straight to mains and do not need a driver.
Allow 2.3w for each step light and add about 20% headroom. 10 step lights draw 23w, so they need a 12v driver of at least 28w, which in practice means a 30w driver.

The HV2907 takes a G4 globe that is not supplied. Add up the wattage of the globes you fit (20w maximum each) and size the driver the same way, with about 20% headroom.
For bigger installs, split the lights across two or more drivers and place each driver close to its group. Long cable runs at low voltage lose brightness at the far end, so check your cable size with our voltage drop calculator.
Indoors, an indoor 12v driver mounted in the ceiling space works well. If the light is going outdoors or under eaves, use a weatherproof IP66 12v driver.
